Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Osteopathic Education here at Mercy Catholic Medical Center. We have been training both Allopathic and Osteopathic physicians for more than 40 years. In 2016, we received our Osteopathic Recognition by the ACGME and since then, we have merged our Osteopathic and Allopathic programs. You will work side by side with Allopathic residents in providing excellent medical care and have the opportunity to incorporate Osteopathic Principles and Osteopathic techniques in patient care on a daily basis.
The education you will receive will fulfill the requirements to obtain your Osteopathic Physician License in Pennsylvania regardless if you are a Transitional Year Resident, Preliminary Internal Medicine Resident, or Categorical Internal Medicine Resident.
In addition to the Internal Medicine and Transitional Year curriculum, our Osteopathic residents continue their education in Osteopathic Principles and apply it to both the in-patient and out-patient settings. As a primary teaching site for PCOM and hosting many Osteopathic medical students from around the country, you will have plenty of opportunity to mentor and teach future physicians.
We look forward to continuing your Osteopathic education.
All the best,
