Kaleigh ZimmermanKaleigh Zimmerman, RN, was recently honored by Nazareth Hospital with the prestigious DAISY Award for going above and beyond in caring for patients.

Zimmerman, who joined the hospital in July 2025, was nominated by a patient for not judging him while he was going through withdrawal. He states that she was very encouraging and helped him realize he could be successful in recovery. The patient also says that Zimmerman “deserves the award because she genuinely takes interest in her patients.”

The DAISY Award—developed by The DAISY Foundation more than 25 years ago—is a recognition program to celebrate and thank nurses for the extraordinary care, kindness and compassion they provide daily. Nurses may be nominated by patients, families or colleagues.

All awardees, including Zimmerman, are celebrated with a certificate, Healer’s Touch Sculpture from Zimbabwe, pin, banner and other memorabilia. They also become eligible for continuing education, professional development and wellbeing benefits.

Zimmerman’s manager, Patricia O’Hagan, RN, MSN, CMSRN, nurse manager of acute telemetry, says, “Kaleigh provides consistent safe patient care. During rounding, patients frequently comment on her true caring nature. Kaleigh has been a true asset to our team.”
