Shanelle DeboseShanelle Debose, RN, an ICU nurse at Nazareth Hospital, was presented with the prestigious DAISY Award for going above and beyond in caring for patients. Developed by The DAISY Foundation more than 25 years ago, this recognition program celebrates and thanks nurses for the extraordinary care, kindness and dedication they provide daily.

Debose, who joined Nazareth in November 2017, was nominated by both a colleague and patient because she “consistently cares for her patients with compassion while providing quality care to enhance outcomes.”

Nurses may be nominated for the DAISY Award by patients, families or colleagues. All awardees, including Debose, are celebrated with a certificate, Healer’s Touch Sculpture from Zimbabwe, pin, banner and other memorabilia. They also become eligible for continuing education, professional development and wellbeing benefits.

Debose’s manager, Brian Gardner, RN, says, “Shanelle is not just an exceptional nurse, but she is a kind and compassionate coworker. She has touched countless lives through her exceptional care, empathy and commitment to nursing excellence. I cannot think of a nurse that is more deserving of the DAISY Award than her.”
