gwtg 2018Our hospitals have earned numerous awards and recognitions for outstanding stroke care. Mercy Fitzgerald, Mercy Philadelphia and Nazareth Hospital have been designated as Primary Stroke Centers by the Joint Commission.

Other notable achievements include:

    • Named one of America’s Top 100 Hospitals for Stroke Care by HealthGrades (Nazareth Hospital).
    • Five-time recipient of HealthGrades’ Stroke Care Excellence Award, ranking the hospital among the top 5% nationally (Nazareth Hospital—2006, 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2013).
    • Continued national certification by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) (Nazareth Hospital and Mercy Fitzgerald).
    • The first community hospital-based program in Philadelphia to receive the Gold Seal of Approval and national certification (renewed for two years in 2012) from The Joint Commission (Nazareth Hospital).
    • Five-star rated for treatment of stroke for 11 consecutive years (Nazareth Hospital).

    • Active participation in The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Program. Use of proven science-based treatment guidelines for stroke, including those developed by the American Stroke Association, American Heart Association and Brain Attack Coalition (Mercy Fitzgerald, Mercy Philadelphia, Nazareth Hospital).
