Saint Francis Hospital recognizes January Joyce-Nardo, RN, with DAISY Award

Wilmington, Del. – (September 10, 2025) – Saint Francis Hospital recently presented a DAISY® Award to January Joyce-Nardo, RN, a dedicated nurse in the operation room (OR).
Joyce-Nardo was nominated by Saint Francis Hospital Ob/Gyn, Nancy Petit, MD. Joyce-Nardo’s nomination stems from her constant ability to go above and beyond and support her fellow colleagues well beyond the OR.
“Joyce-Nardo is an exceptional nurse when it comes to delivering care in the operating room setting - always pleasant, cheerful, reassuring to patients when they are in an extremely vulnerable position and about to have a surgical procedure. Her efficiency and attention to detail when it comes to keeping the day-to-day flow in the OR moving as efficiently as possible is unmatched,” said Dr. Petit on her nomination form.
She was also noted as being a great assist during a former long-time colleague of Saint Francis Hospital’s end of life care. Going well beyond her duties as a nurse, she personally took it upon herself to assist the colleague with appointments, delivery of medicine and being a great neighbor to her long-time friend.
Joyce-Nardo joined Saint Francis Hospital’s OR team in March 2013. She has been a dedicated member of the OR team and is highly praised inside and outside of the hospital by her patients and the local Hilltop community.
