Hope CommissionWilmington, Del. — (November 16, 2023) — The Healthy Village® at Saint Francis Hospital is pleased to announce that their third official partner, Hope Commission – Women’s Reentry Program, is officially open to serve. Its office is located in the medical office building (MOB) on the third floor next to the outpatient lab in suite 301A.

The Women’s Reentry Program aims to provide social service support to women in Delaware that have recently been released from incarceration. As there is already a program in place for men through the Hope Commission, the need to support women is seen as long overdue.

“We are excited for the participants of this program to benefit from all The Healthy Village has to offer,” says Lillian Schonewolf, executive director of The Healthy Village at Saint Francis Hospital. “The Hope Commission has had amazing success with their men’s program, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have the first women’s program in the State of Delaware be at Saint Francis Hospital.”

The new partnership with The Healthy Village at Saint Francis Hospital adds a new layer of social support to a part of the Wilmington community that can often be ignored. The program acts as a bridge for women who need help with social services such as food and housing assistance, but also helps with those seeking employment and provides their participants with bus passes for transportation needs.

“Our goal is to connect justice-involved women, and women of the community, with the resources and tools they need to be successful and become productive members of society,” says Keyanna White, coordinator for Women’s Reentry Program.
