Rabia Qureshi, MD, a Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand surgery, brings a passion for restoring function and improving lives to her work. Her path into the specialty was shaped by mentors who guided her early in her training.
“I had a particularly great group of hand surgeons who I worked with,” she recalls. “Each of them taught me about the joys and complexities of hand surgery, but also how to help patients return to function.”
Their influence helped instill a deep appreciation for the role hand surgeons play in helping patients regain the ability to perform everyday tasks. “We use our hands for nearly everything, and to be able to help people get back to what they love is a privilege.”
Dr. Qureshi is energized by where orthopedic surgery is headed.
“Innovations such as wrist and digit arthroplasty offer new opportunities for patients to preserve motion that once would have been lost through fusion surgery,” she explains. These advancements, she notes, have improved patient comfort and recovery times while expanding access to care.
For Dr. Qureshi, joining Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic also means caring for the community she knows well.
“I’m excited to serve this community as it’s close to home for me,” she shares. Her commitment to compassionate, community-centered care aligns closely with the health system’s mission and with what motivates her most, which is restoring confidence, independence and quality of life for every patient she treats.
