St. Mary Medical Center receives $65,000 state grant to enhance women’s medical imaging services

Newtown Square, Pa. – (September 4, 2026) – Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic’s St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, received a $65,000 Community Economic Assistance Program (CEAP) state grant to support women’s medical imaging within the hospital’s Breast Imaging Center in June 2026.

The grant will fund several key enhancements designed to improve breast imaging care, including the replacement of breast ultrasound transducers, advanced clinical training for radiologists and technologists, and initiatives to further enhance patient comfort during imaging procedures. The funding will also support on-site training to help ensure breast biopsy procedures are performed safely, accurately and efficiently.

On Aug. 17, 2026, state Sen. Frank A. Farry, who represents Pennsylvania’s 6th District, and state Rep. Joe Hogan, who represents Pennsylvania’s 142nd District, presented a check to Michael Magro Jr., DO, MBA, FACOI, president of St. Mary Medical Center and Nazareth Hospital, and fellow senior leaders in celebration of this transformative funding. Senior leaders included Vernon Bramble, MBA, board member; Cathy Cardillo, MBA, regional director of advocacy; Suzette Cunicelli, vice president of operations; Frank S. Guarrieri, JD, board member; Lynn Lucas-Fehm, MD, diagnostic radiologist; James J. McCaffrey III, board member; Oleg Teytelboym, MD, president of Mid-Atlantic Radiology Consultants; Michael Wert, board member; and Dia Williams Adams, MPA, chief development officer.

“We thank Senator Farry and Representative Hogan for their commitment to advancing women’s medical imaging services in our community,” said Magro. “By working together with local leaders, we can better address community healthcare needs, strengthen access to lifesaving screening and diagnostic services, and ensure patients receive the care they need close to home.”

This investment will strengthen the quality and reliability of breast imaging services in Bucks County, reducing potential equipment disruptions and supporting more timely diagnoses and treatment for patients.

Screening mammograms play a critical role in early detection, often finding breast cancer before it can be seen or felt, when treatment may be most effective. According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer among U.S. women, excluding skin cancers, accounting for nearly one-third of all new cancer diagnoses in women each year.
