Rebecca ChenDarby, Pa. — (September 15, 2022) — Primary Care Providence, located in Secane, Pa., is pleased to welcome Rebecca Chen, a certified physician assistant with nine years of experience providing quality patient-oriented care. Chen began seeing patients at Primary Care Providence earlier this month.

Chen comes to Primary Care Providence from Crozer Health – Primary Care Woodlyn (Pa.), where she was involved in all aspects of adult patient care, including physical examinations, treatment plans, medication prescriptions, laboratory and diagnostic studies, and in-office procedures.

As a physician assistant in primary care, Chen strives to work collaboratively with physicians to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in both diagnostic and preventive medicine.

“I endeavor to respect all patients’ cultural beliefs, ethnic backgrounds, and sexual orientation,” says Chen. “I live by the words of Maya Angelou: ‘People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel’. To me, delivering healthcare is more than just treating a disease; rather it is focusing on providing for the needs of the patient in all aspects of life, whether it be physical or psychological or emotional.”

Chen received her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Services from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, before earning a Master of Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from Drexel University in Philadelphia, where she was named the Physician Assistant program’s Preceptor of the Year. She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and as a Pennsylvania State Physician Assistant. She also holds certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support Skills and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support. Additionally, Chen is bilingual in English and Mandarin.
