For Khanh Phung, DO, an internal medicine physician at Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, the path to medicine was shaped by a love of science and a desire to serve others. Inspired by his role model (his cousin), Dr. Phung was drawn to a path of service, building a career grounded in discipline, compassion and a deep commitment to helping others.
“From a young age, I’ve looked up to my cousin,” Dr. Phung shares. “Deeply inspired by his work, I followed in his footsteps by first joining the Navy—a decision that eventually led to pursuing a career as a physician.”
Today, Dr. Phung brings that same sense of purpose to his work at Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, where he’s known for not only his clinical expertise but also for his dedication to patient-centered care. “I enjoy being part of a health care organization where I can support patients over time while helping guide the next generation of physicians as they grow in their roles,” he explains.
He continues to be inspired by the people around him. “My supportive and compassionate colleagues help make this place special,” he describes.
