A Letter from Hugh Bonner, MD
Update from the Saint Francis Hospital Family Medicine Residency
The Saint Francis Hospital Family Medicine Residency is having a successful and productive academic year. We maintain our focus on full-spectrum family medicine delivered in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
As part of our work in full-spectrum family medicine, we continue to provide prenatal and obstetric services to the community. We are fortunate to have five family physician faculty members delivering babies. Thanks to ongoing efforts by Dr. Hack and colleagues, we continue to receive support from the Tiny Steps grant to support this important care.
Our Peru telehealth clinic provides care every other week for a clinic in Chulucanas, Peru, with a focus on continuity of care. Dr. Monteleone leads this effort and is traveling again this year to Peru to provide care to this community.
We now have medical students from three medical schools that use our Residency as a training site in Family Medicine—Lewis Katz School of Medicine (Temple University), Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Tribuiani coordinates the medical student rotations for our Residency.
We look forward to upcoming medical conferences this year including the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Future 26 conference in Kansas City, Mo., the Family Medicine Education Consortium in Atlantic City, N.J., the 2026 AAFP Congress of Delegates in Nashville, Tenn., which Dr. Hack will attend as an alternate delegate from Delaware, and the Delaware Academy of Family Physicians (DAFP) annual scientific assembly.
Sincerely,
Hugh Bonner III, MD, FAAFP
