Amanda Shulski, PA-C, a Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic gastroenterology physician assistant, felt a personal connection when choosing her career path in gastrointestinal medicine. Inspired by a close family member’s journey with ulcerative colitis and their incredible care team, Amanda was drawn to the specialty from an early age.
“I like the mix of acute and chronic care with a focus on preventive medicine,” she explains. “Gastroenterology allows me to support patients through a wide range of health issues, including treating immediate concerns, managing lifelong conditions or focusing on long-term wellness.”
Amanda continues to find motivation in the evolving landscape of GI care, especially with the advancement of biologic medications. “I’m excited to see how pharmacology continues to develop to help improve patient outcomes,” she shares.
What keeps Amanda grounded in her work is the supportive, welcoming environment she’s found at Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic. “Everyone smiles and says, ‘hello’ or ‘good morning’ when you walk by. It’s a close-knit group,” she says. “That sense of connection makes a real difference in how we care for each other and our patients.”
