Iris Stendig-RaskinIris Stendig-Raskin is an obstetrics and gynecology nurse practitioner at Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic who began her career as a social worker in reproductive health, but later found her passion for women’s health and direct patient care.

“I came across an inspiring article about nurse practitioners in MS magazine and was moved to change career paths,” Stendig-Raskin explains. “Since choosing this path, I’ve never looked back.”

Throughout her three-decade experience as a nurse practitioner, Stendig-Raskin continues to find motivation through teaching and empowering her patients to ask any question and to understand their health and their body’s response to health conditions.

“Knowledge is power,” she adds. “I love teaching and empowering my patients, especially in a field with so many innovations and changes.”

One thing that many patients may not realize about Stendig-Raskin is her interest in holistic health. She practices Reiki therapy and Shamanic healing. Her interest in and the goals of these two practices align with the Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic mission to serve “as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within our communities.”

One thing I often remind patients is to ask anything that comes to mind,” Stendig-Raskin says. “There is no such thing as a dumb question, and I want to make sure my patients leave my office with all their questions and concerns addressed.”
