Nazareth ranks in nation’s top 10% for quality stroke care
The stroke program earned the Healthgrades’ Stroke Care Excellence Award.
This places the hospital in the nation’s top 10 percent for quality stroke care services.
In addition to the impressive Healthgrades ranking, the Philadelphia Business Journal has honored Nazareth with a Bronze Award in Health Improvement for bringing emergency cardiac angioplasty to Northeast Philadelphia.
Healthgrades reviews hospital data and processes and reports back to consumers so that they can make educated choices about where they go to receive health care. Healthgrades’ recognition of Nazareth includes the following commendations:
- Ranked No. 10 in Pennsylvania for treatment of stroke in 2013
- Ranked among the top 10 in Pennsylvania for treatment of stroke for two years in a row (2012–2013)
- Five-star recipient for treatment of stroke for 11 consecutive years (2003-2013)
Nancy Cherone, executive director of Nazareth Hospital, emphasizes that it takes commitment to the patient community to achieve and maintain the standards that bring this sort of recognition. “Everything we do is about being able to deliver quality care to our patients. It’s nice to get awards and it’s nice to be recognized, but at the end of the day you’re doing what is best and right for the community that you serve,” says Cherone.
