Live well with diabetes
There’s no denying that diabetes, both type 1 and type 2, can raise your risk for other serious health problems. However, keeping your blood sugar under control and adopting other safeguards can help you stay healthy.
Get the knowledge you need
Your healthcare team can help you manage your diabetes and avoid complications. And you can sign up for the newly expanded diabetes education classes at Mercy Catholic Medical Center – Mercy Philadelphia Campus.
Classes are held once a week for four weeks. They cover key diabetes topics that will help you:
- Eat a healthy diet
- Manage your medications
- Effectively cope with the many challenges of the disease
A team of health experts teaches the classes, which are accredited by the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
Who can benefit?
The classes are for anyone with diabetes—whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been living with the disease for some time.
“We want to provide the support people need to manage or better manage their chronic disease and stay well,” says Brittany Danoski, MHA, Director of Population Health for Mercy Accountable Care, LLC.
How to sign up
Ask your doctor for a referral to the diabetes education classes. You can also call 610.237.4192 if you have questions about the program.
