Cancer nurse navigators at Mercy Philadelphia

Compassionate cancer treatment in the Philadelphia area.

Your mammogram just came back with abnormal results, and a million thoughts are swirling: Worry. Confusion. Fear. That’s why Mercy Philadelphia assigns a nurse navigator to every patient whose mammogram shows something unusual.

The nurse navigator is a specially trained oncology nurse who ensures seamless access to every aspect of cancer care, from scheduling tests to making sure every last one of the patient’s questions are answered. The nurse navigator is part of a multidisciplinary team—including a medical oncologist, surgeon and a radiation oncologist—who meet with patients and family members to establish a care plan.

Once treatment is done, the nurse navigator also helps transition patients to their new role as survivor and connects them with support groups.

Help For All. A nurse navigator helps patients diagnosed with any cancer. For more information, call 1.877.GO MERCY.
