Meet Our Preceptors

Demi Ngoc Tran, PharmD, BCPS

Ngoc serves as the Manager for Pharmacy Services at Nazareth as well as the Residency Program Director and Preceptor for the Administration and Leadership rotation. After receiving her Doctor of Pharmacy from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, Ngoc completed a PGY-1 Residency at Mercy Suburban Hospital. Prior to coming to the Nazareth in 2013, Ngoc worked as the Director of Pharmacy and Clinical Coordinator at Mercy Suburban Hospital. During this time, she was a preceptor for students, interns, and pharmacy residents. Ngoc became board certified in Pharmacotherapy in 2011 and has received several accolades for achievement in her field.

Rachel Park, PharmD, BCPS

Rachel serves as the Critical Care pharmacist as well as the Antibiotic Stewardship pharmacist at Nazareth. She is the Pharmacy Residency Program Coordinator as well as a preceptor for the Critical Care and Infectious Disease rotations. Rachel received her B.S. in Pharmacy from St John’s University and her doctor of pharmacy degree from University of Florida College of Pharmacy. She was trained as a PGY-1 pharmacy resident at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, N.Y., and is board certified in Pharmacotherapy.

Rachel has maintained a focus on research throughout her career, most recently receiving Mercy’s President’s Award for Excellence for her research in heparin dosing in obesity. In addition, Her research was accepted and presented at the CHEST conference in Montreal, Canada.

Jason Varghese, PharmD

Jason serves as the Clinical Coordinator at Nazareth and Preceptor for Internal Medicine and Transitions of Care rotations. Jason received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and has worked as a Clinical Pharmacist at Nazareth since 2004.

Michael Amoroso, PharmD

Mike is the Preceptor for Orientation and Longitudinal Staffing Experience at Nazareth. Mike graduated with a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from Temple University School of Pharmacy. With over 25 years of hospital pharmacy experience, Mike served as Assistant Director at Episcopal Hospital prior to joining the Nazareth team in 2000.

Nancy Makem, PharmD

Nancy serves as Nazareth’s Medication Safety Officer and is the Preceptor for the Medication Safety rotation. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Temple University School of Pharmacy. Nancy joined Nazareth’s team as a clinical pharmacist in 2006.

Seda Ibrahim, PharmD

Seda serves as a Clinical Pharmacist on Nazareth’s Telemetry floor as well as the preceptor for the Emergency Medicine Rotation and elective General Cardiology rotation. Seda received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Wilkes University School of Pharmacy and trained as a PGY-1 resident at Hershey Medical Center. Seda previously worked as a Critical Care Pharmacist as Nazareth as well as Clinical Staff Pharmacist at Hershey Medical Center. She has also served as an adjunct professor at Wilkes University for the PPCP counseling pharmaceutical care lab.
