Nazareth Hospital Nurse Honored by YWCA of Bucks County
Northeast Philadelphia (May 30, 2019): Recently, Theresa Conejo, registered nurse at Nazareth Hospital, was named as the YWCA Bucks County’s Advocacy and Civic Engagement honoree at the 28th annual Salute to Women Who Make a Difference Awards. The distinction recognized Conejo for her work with the YWCA and ACLU on local immigration issues, and her history of strong civic engagement and leadership as a grassroots mobilizer.
In her work, Conejo serves on the Trinity Health advocacy team, and Nazareth Hospital’s diversity committee. In the past, Conejo’s remarkable work as an advocate and grassroots mobilizer earned her numerous awards and appointments, including:
- 2017 AHA Healthcare Volunteer of the Year
- 2016 AHA Dr. Lynn Smaha Award of Excellence
- 2015 AHA National Volunteer Advocate of the Year
- 2014 AHA Go Red Por Tu Corazón Ambassador
- 2014 Trinity CEO Diversity Champion Award for Community Service and Volunteerism
Each year, the YWCA Salute to Women Who Make a Difference Awards recognize women in Bucks County making exceptional contributions to their businesses, organizations and communities. Over the last 27 years, the YWCA has honored hundreds of women while raising much-needed funds to support its mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
