Mercy Philadelphia and Nazareth Offer 3D Mammography for Women
CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (May 11, 2017) – To help women catch breast cancer earlier and more consistently, Mercy Philadelphia and Nazareth Hospital join Mercy Fitzgerald to offer a new, advanced diagnostic imaging technology: digital breast tomosynthesis, also known as 3-D mammography.
Regardless of race, religion, occupation or marital status, all women share one unifying thing—the risk of breast cancer. The 3-D mammogram technology uses a low-dose, short X-ray sweep around the breast with nine exposures that increase image sharpness. With better imaging, greater accuracy and fewer callbacks, 3-D mammograms can catch cancer earlier and help save lives.
“We are committed to offering the women in our communities comprehensive services—from screening and diagnosis through treatment and rehabilitation,” said Sharon Carney, MD, Chief Medical Officer.
Three-dimensional mammography services are available at: Mercy Fitzgerald, Mercy Philadelphia and Nazareth Hospital. To receive more information, call 1.877.GO MERCY.
