Mercy Welcomes Oncology Medical Director Carmine Volpe, MD, FACS

Carmine VolpeDARBY (December 18, 2017): Carmine Volpe, MD, FACS, has been named Medical Director for Mercy’s Oncology Service Line. Dr. Volpe received his medical degree and completed his residency in general surgery at Drexel University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his fellowship in surgical oncology and endoscopy at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. Dr. Volpe is Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Volpe is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of several national academic societies and research and advocacy organizations, including the Society of Surgical Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association for Cancer Research, and Connective Tissue Oncology Society. Dr. Volpe has also been a member of several surgical societies, including the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, Association for Academic Surgery and the Central Surgical Association. He has also served as an Associate Board Examiner for the American Board of Surgery Certifying examination.
